Kevin Doyle

Music Photographer

In 1978 I was introduced to the music of Bruce Springsteen and his Darkness On The Edge Of Town album and tour and thus began my passion for music photography. For the next two decades I would camp out at Ticket Master locations to secure the best seat as close to the stage as possible, phase one, and then came the challenge of getting my camera gear and film into the venue, phase two. Most times I was successful but I did suffer my share of defeats. Film confiscated, damage to my camera and sometimes I would be ejected bruised and battered. As I view my body of work now, I can say with a smile that it was all worth it.

The majority of my music images have never been published or available to view until now. It is a very large body of work so take your time and enjoy these images as I have for so many years. For a majority of the shows I have photographed, I did so as a fan and not as a credentialed media photographer, unfortunately for me, photo passes were out of my reach.

I have a book project coming titled MUSIC ICON’S Front Row Center and I will be offering the opportunity to purchase many of these images from the book as Fine Prints so please stop back, there will be an update soon.

This past summer of ‘23 Soul Asylum performed at the MN State Fair where I had the opportunity to photograph the show. This was my first music performance photographed digitally. Nikon Z9

Anyone who has photographed a show knows the many challenges that comes with being successful and going home with a feeling of accomplishment. No two photographer’s work process is the same nor is their vision of the show thus creating a unique vision all their own. I consider my process a work in progress and would love to hear about your concert experiences and your work flow past or present so please share.

Thank You
